Orthotics​​ and Prosthetics is the science of the evaluation, prescription, fabrication and custom fitting of orthopaedic braces and artificial limbs. Prosthetists specialise in designing and making artificial limbs (prostheses), while orthotists specialise in designing and fitting orthopaedic braces (orthoses).
