Description
Occupational Therapy mental health services are provided at MCH on a ward level and at the respective OT units at MCH. Referrals are processed via the different psychiatric firms. At the Community mental health day centres, OT’s assess all service users and follow up accordingly. OT services are offered to young people and adults with psychiatric conditions, conduct disorders, intellectual disabilities, psycho-geriatrics and people with substance abuse.
OT services include assessment of abilities particularly those related to daily living skills namely budgeting, transport, vocational, functional, perceptual, safety and social skills. Training of such skills may be incorporated into group and individual sessions.
