Description
Occupational Therapists at Gozo General and Tal-Ibragg Hospital provide Occupational Therapy services for all age groups in the physical and mental health fields, both on an in-patient and out-patient basis. Referrals are acknowledged from consultants, medical practitioners, allied health professionals as well as from schools and inclusive education co-ordinators.
Following an initial detailed assessment where primarily the areas of self– care, work and leisure are assessed in depth, an individualised rehabilitation programme is devised and implemented on the respective ward for all paediatric, neurological, orthopaedic, surgical, cardiac, psychiatric, and geriatric cases referred. Home / school visits and family training sessions are carried out when and as required. Continued rehabilitation on an out -patient and / or community basis follows accordingly.
