Description
OT services are offered on an in-patient and out-patient basis (60 years and over), as well as in the different homes for the elderly.
All patients admitted at SVPR are automatically referred for OT by a blanket referral system while those coming from the community and in the homes need a referral by a medical doctor / the home manager / a senior carer.
Services include rehabilitation in preparation of ADL retraining, teaching use of adaptive equipment and energy conservation techniques, cognitive assessment and retraining, environmental modification, splinting, seating and positioning. Sessions are carried out on an individual basis or as group therapy sessions.
